The Getting Into It course is designed to get your students to the point of being able to come back into the facility on their own. Over three hours, participants will learn all the information needed to pass the VIRG belay check. They will have literally “learned the ropes!”

This means instruction on putting on a climbing approved harness, learning how to belay (manage the ropes), tie the figure-Eight follow through knot, and a technique tip or two. The course includes all the
necessary equipment and of course our expert instructors to facilitate your visit. The Getting Into It, a very popular program with the public, can be scheduled in single or multiple sessions to fit your classtime constraints!

Cost:
$23.95 +GST per participant
There is a minimum charge of $110 for these programs

Group Size:
The maximum is 45 participants (depending upon the time).

Times:
The Getting Into It must be pre-booked and can be scheduled weekdays until 5pm. Availability may be limited due to previously booked groups or other events. Please call (780) 496-9390 for more information on possible dates and times.

Ages:
The Getting Into It can be booked for groups aged 10 years and older. All participants under the age of 18 need a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.

Clothing:
Participants are suggested to wear comfortable clothing that they can move around in. Layers are also a great idea. Everyone must wear socks in the rental shoes.

Note: The Getting Into It is a certification preparation program.
Participants will be ready to complete a belay check allowing
them to use the rope systems following the class without
further supervision.
